Sevilla Osasuna prediction 2023-02-26

Sevilla vs Osasuna prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-02-25 20:00.
Things are finally looking up for Jorge Sampaoli’s Sevilla, with 40% of their 25 points so far being picked up in the last five La Liga (LL) matches (W3, D1, L1), culminating in a 1-1 draw at Vallecano which saw them sneak further away from the drop zone. Sevilla have enjoyed playing host recently too, having won each of their last four LL home contests – the last time they won five such games in a row was in October 2021 after a 2-0 victory over Osasuna!

Despite their recent league form, the Andalusians remain only three points above the bottom three ahead of the round, though they managed to progress from Thursday’s Europa League play-off tie against PSV despite losing 2-0. Therefore, Sampaoli will hope to see a performance worthy of a team who’s European journey remains alive, with green shoots visible in his resurgent outfit who've fallen far since last season’s fourth-place finish.

His troops certainly have the platform to do it, having won each of their last nine LL home H2Hs against these visitors – their longest such run in the competition. The timing perhaps suits Sevilla too, with Osasuna winless in their last five league games (D3, L2), bookended by a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid, which led to manager Jagoba Arrasate to state that you have to concentrate on the “positive things”.

That’s the Rojillos’ longest winless streak this league campaign, but they’re arguably performing on par having finished in the tenth-place they occupy ahead of the matchday in two of the previous three seasons. Arrasate will want to arrest his side’s dipping form however, as they’ve scored just twice in their last five LL away outings (D4, L1), and with only Cádiz scoring fewer than their seven league away goals ahead of the round, time will tell if they can tip the H2H scales here.

Key battle: Youssef En-Nesyri is in red-hot form, having struck four goals in Sevilla’s last three competitive home games (W3). Osasuna ‘keeper Aitor Fernández might not be happy to see the forward, as En-Nesyri struck past him the last time they met in a hitherto winless personal record against Sevilla (D1, L4)!

Hot stat: Sevilla have managed seven victories ‘to-nil’ from their last nine home games versus Osasuna.
