Sheffield Utd Swansea prediction 2023-02-11

Sheffield Utd vs Swansea prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-02-10 15:00.
It’s been a busy week for Sheffield United, who have begun takeover discussions with a Nigerian billionaire. Last Saturday’s 0-0 Championship draw at Rotherham was a setback although manager Paul Heckingbottom said afterwards he was “pleased with lots of things,” following a Yorkshire derby stalemate which left them ten points clear of the side in third place.

With his side on track for automatic promotion and still in the FA Cup courtesy of Tuesday’s 3-1 replay win over Wrexham, four straight home league wins have made him happy too, with three of those fixtures seeing the Blades scoring inside the opening 15 minutes. They’ve also won four out of five home Championship H2Hs against Swansea City ‘to nil’ including a 4-0 rout last February.

While Heckingbottom is a happy man, his opposite number Russell Martin is not, admitting following Swansea’s last-gasp 4-3 defeat to Birmingham City that “I have not felt as low as this to be honest”. The decisive goal came deep into injury time and they’re slipping away from the play-off positions having won one of their last four league fixtures (D1, L2).

Still, the Swans have only lost one of their last six league away matches (W1, D4) so should be expected to put up a fight, particularly as three of those draws saw them concede first including in a 3-3 draw against Coventry City after being 3-0 down! Starting better might improve Martin’s mood as they’ve trailed 1-0 at the break in three of their last four league away games (W1, D2, L1).

Players to watch: Although Sheffield United’s Sander Berge netted in injury time against Wrexham, three of his four league goals this term arrived before the 25th minute. If Swansea find themselves needing a response, JoĂ«l Piroe could be their man as three of his last four league strikes came in or after the 50th minute.

Hot stat: Sheffield United have been marked up as favourites in each of their 14 home league matches this season, but only have a 64% win rate (W9, D3, L2).
