Sheffield Utd Wolves prediction 2023-11-04

Sheffield Utd vs Wolves prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-11-03 15:00.
Concerns about Sheffield United’s ability to be a competitive Premier League (PL) outfit this campaign were compounded at the weekend by a 5-0 loss away to a partially rotated Arsenal side. So too was the speculation that manager Paul Heckingbottom would be sacked in the aftermath of that latest outing as a result of their ongoing poor performances, despite his protestations that they’ve already faced six clubs who start this round inside the top nine

It was the fourth of Sheffield United’s six consecutive PL defeats where they conceded the opening goal within the first half hour, whilst the margin of losses has been hefty at times. Their first five league games saw them concede no more than two goals nor a margin of greater than one (D1, L4) which was enough for supporters to hope that they weren’t far off the pace. An aggregate losing score of 20-2 across their five most recent PL losses however, led defensive midfielder Ollie Norwood to admit that the players “are not doing our job out there”.

On the other hand, Wolves have done what Sheffield United were hoping for, turn an awful five-game start into a mid-table position with a resurgence across the last five rounds (W2, D3). That streak included taking points from well-placed clubs Manchester City (W 2-1), Aston Villa (D 1-1), and most recently Newcastle (D 2-2) despite what manager Gary O’Neil bemoaned as a “scandalous decision” to award Newcastle a penalty.

There’s plenty more from Wolves’ recent performances to indicate that they can secure their longest PL unbeaten run since 2020 here. Their last four PL away games were all against clubs starting this weekend beneath them in the standings, like Sheffield United, and they took home seven of a possible 12 points (W2, D1, L1) in the process.

Players to watch: Sheffield United forward Cameron Archer has interestingly seen his last ten club home goals arrive between the 30th and 60th minute. Preferring to hit the road, Matheus Cunha’s two goals for Wolves this PL season both came on the road and after half-time.

Hot stat: All but one of the 12 goals scored or conceded by Wolves away from home this PL season have come after half-time.
