Slovacko vs Nice prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-10-05 16:45.
Things are very congested in Group D of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL), as first and last place are separated by only three points. At the foot of the table lies the Czech Republic’s Slovácko, who have entertained thus far in their European group stage debut with their two matches seeing a mammoth 12 goals scored, though their five goals have only proved to be worth a point (D1, L1).
Martin SvÄ›dĂk’s men know a win here puts them right back into contention, and having arrested a seven-game winless run (D3, L4) with a 2-0 victory away against ZlĂn at the weekend, Slovácko can prepare to take on Nice for the first time with some confidence within the camp. A return to more familiar surroundings may breed further confidence for Slovácko, who have proven hard to beat on home soil in Europe after going unbeaten in their last four home matches on the continental stage (W2, D2).
Nice make the trip to Czech Republic on the back of a two game skid (L2), part of a wider run of just one victory from their last six matches overall (D2, L3). Those two draws both came in their UECL group matches and both ended 1-1, and considering Nice have scored two or less goals in their last 12 European outings, their defence may need to be water-tight if they’re to grab all three points here.
But that’s easier said than done, as the Eaglets have struggled against Czech opposition lately, failing to win any of their last four such encounters (D2, L2). Their chances seem even slimmer when factoring in their wretched away form, with nine defeats in their last 12 trips on the road in Europe (W1, D2) perhaps raising doubts that it could be Nice bringing up the rear of Group D come the end of play on Thursday.
Players to watch: Slovácko’s Jan Kalabiška has scored three of their UECL group stage goals this campaign, whilst also scoring the match opener in three of his last four goalscoring outings. Nice’s Gaëtan Laborde tends to strike a little later, scoring all three of his goals this season away from home and after half-time.
Hot stat: There’s been goals scored in both halves in nine of Slovácko’s last 12 matches.
