Slovakia Slovenia prediction 2025-03-20

Slovakia vs Slovenia prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League B/C – Relegation betting tips on match 2025-03-19 19:45.
[p]Fresh from their best-ever points tally in a UEFA Nations League (UNL) campaign, Slovakia ought to be full of confidence as they attempt to return to the second tier of the competition. The Falcons, who now take on Slovenia in a two-legged play-off, registered four wins from their six group matches (D1, L1), and are now potentially 180 minutes away from avenging the relegation they suffered in 2020.[/p]

[p]Recent results should come as no surprise, given that Slovakia lost just four of their previous 15 competitive fixtures before the current UNL campaign got underway (W8, D3), keeping six clean sheets in the process. And another shutout in their last encounter, a 1-0 success over Estonia, means that they are now only one match away from going unbeaten in five games on home soil for the first time since September 2018 – a run which ironically began in September 2017 with a 1-0 win over Slovenia!Ā [/p]

[p]The visitors might fancy their chances of ending that sequence as they have lost just one of the last eight H2Hs (W3, D4). Matjaž Kekā€™s side might also feel somewhat frustrated to be in this position, given that their eight-point haul in League B Group 3 (W2, D2, L2) was the highest of all the third-placed teams across the entire UNL in 2024/25.[/p]

[p]A poor end to the campaign consigned them to the relegation play-off though, as they lost 4-1 at home to Norway before drawing 1-1 in Austria in their most recent outing. That was a fourth draw in Sloveniaā€™s last eight competitive internationals on foreign soil (W1, L3), and it would be no bad thing for the country if this ended all square for Kekā€™s men too, as they look to extend their stay in the UNLā€™s second tier to a third term.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Five of David Strelecā€™s last six goals for Slovakia have been the first or last of the game, including three UNL strikes. Slovenia goalkeeper Jan Oblak will be looking to thwart him, and he has kept five clean sheets in his nine away appearances in this competition (W3, D4, L2).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only three of Sloveniaā€™s last nine UNL away matches have seen both teams score.[/p]
