Slovan Bratislava O. Ljubljana prediction 2023-12-14

Slovan Bratislava vs O. Ljubljana prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-12-13 20:00.
Slovan Bratislava will be progressing beyond the group stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) for the second consecutive time, having also done so last season for the first time in club history. The question to be determined now is how far they go, and a direct entry in the Round of 16 beckons if they defeat Olimpija Ljubljana again and group leaders Lille drop points to Icelandic side KÍ.

The hosts will be confident they can hold up their end of the bargain given Vladimir Weiss’ men have lost just one of their last 12 home games at home in European competition, although seven of those have been draws! Yet the 6-0 away win to Podbrezová this past weekend will have given the defensive unit plenty of confidence, which could prove key given the Slovakian champions have conceded in four of their five UECL group stage games so far.

Slovan’s solitary shutout was against Olimpia in the reverse fixture (W 1-0), but the Slovenians have been in sharp scoring form more recently, recording goals in all but one of their last nine games in all competitions. The sole exception was a 2-0 loss to Lille, which came as no surprise given the gulf in class between the two sides.

It has been a difficult UEFA group stage debut for Olimpia, whose only points of the campaign came via a 2-0 home win against KÍ. They have for the most part found travelling across the continent difficult, failing to win each of their last five away trips (D2, L3) in all UEFA competitions, but with a comfortable second place in their domestic league firmly in their grasp, there should be an opportunity to return next season better for the experience.

Players to watch: Aleksandar Čavrić registered an incredible Flashscore rating of 9.9/10 at the weekend to take his total goal contributions in all competitions this season to 20 (G14, A6), including six in this group stage alone (G4, A2). For the visitors, Olimpia’s Nemanja Motika scored his fifth league goal of the season at the weekend, four of which arrived after the break.

Hot streak: Olimpija Ljubljana failed to score in each of their seven UEFA losses this season.
