Slovan Bratislava (Svk) Midtjylland (Den) prediction 2024-08-28

Slovan Bratislava (Svk) vs Midtjylland (Den) prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – Qualification betting tips on match 2024-08-27 19:00.
[p]It’s still all to play for in this UEFA Champions League (UCL) qualifying play-off for Slovan Bratislava and Midtjylland, who couldn’t be separated in Denmark last week (1-1). This will be Slovan’s eighth game in 2024/25 qualifying (W4, D3), and with three of their four wins so far having come at home, they should be confident of securing a first-ever UCL group/league appearance.  [/p]

[p]VladimĂr Weiss’ side boosted their belief further with a routine 2-0 victory on the road in domestic action at Dukla Banská Bystrica this past weekend, which helped extend their overall unbeaten record in 2024/25 to 11 matches (W8, D3). However, six games without a win against Danish opposition (D2, L4) highlights a tricky trend that Slovan must break if they’re to progress here. [/p]

[p]Although only once, Midtjylland have tasted Champions League group/league action already, reaching this stage in 2020/21. To do so again, they will need to improve on a pretty poor away European record of just one win in their past 13 such trips (D6, L6), that came at Andorra’s UE Santa Coloma (3-0) this summer in the second round of qualifying. [/p]

[p]Midtjylland also secured a domestic win in between these two meetings with Slovan, but had to work much harder for it, coming from behind twice to beat Sønderjyske 3-2. That was the third successive game in which Thomas Thomasberg’s men have scored after the 75th minute, having also secured the equaliser against Slovan last week late into the match, so don’t therefore be shocked to see more late drama here! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Tigran Barseghyan set up the opener last week for Slovan, and he has also found the back of the net either side of that first leg in domestic action. Edward Chilufya is looking for a third successive goalscoring appearance, with the other two strikes both coming after half-time. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Slovan have conceded just once in their last four home matches (W4). [/p]
