Spain U21 vs Romania U21 prediction: EUROPE: Euro U21 betting tips on match 2025-06-13 16:00.
[p]Spain got their UEFA European U21 Championship campaign off to a winning start by beating Slovakia 3-2 on Wednesday, but having let a 2-0 lead slip before striking late, they were a little unconvincing. After winning the tournament three times during the 2010s, as well as finishing as runners-up in 2017 and 2023, La Rojita have lots of recent history to live up to and will be keen to improve upon their opening day showing.[/p]
[p]They go into their next game against Romania knowing that they have won six of their seven previous meetings with them (L1), winning the latest such encounter 3-0 at the Euros in 2023. More H2H success certainly isn’t guaranteed, as despite Spain’s impressive pedigree, their late win over Slovakia was their first in four internationals (D1, L2), so there is still much to prove on Saturday in Bratislava. [/p]
[p]Romania find themselves bottom of Group A following a 1-0 defeat to Italy, pain exacerbated by the fact they missed a penalty in that game. They now face the real prospect of exiting the tournament at the group stage for the third time running, although if their xG against Italy of 1.62 is anything to go by, they certainly shouldn’t be discounted here.[/p]
[p]Scoring goals has been a long-standing issue for Romania, who endured a woeful Euros campaign in 2023 during which they failed to score and picked up only one point while jointly hosting the tournament. Daniel Pancu’s men will need an instant turnaround to avoid being dumped out sooner rather than later, and four wins from their five games (L1) before their defeat to Italy do at least evidence that they have what it takes to turn their campaign around.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Marc Pubill opened the scoring on Wednesday, and although he rarely gets on the scoresheet, his four club goals at first-team level have all seen him avoid defeat (W3, D1). Fellow full-back Andrei Borza was Romania’s most recent goalscorer in their 1-0 friendly victory over Georgia, while his four senior club career goals have also contributed to three wins and a draw. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: There have been at least two first-half goals in six of Spain’s last eight internationals. [/p]
