St. Pauli Bayern Munich prediction 2024-11-09

St. Pauli vs Bayern Munich prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-11-08 14:30.
[p]St. Pauli have been relegated in each of their last three seasons in the Bundesliga, and until last weekend, long-suffering supporters might have feared another immediate return to the second tier. However, a crucial 2-0 victory at Hoffenheim gives Alexander Blessin’s side a platform to build on, as they leap-frogged their opponents and moved out of the relegation zone.[/p]

[p]The manager described himself as “incredibly proud” at how the Neighbourhood Kickers performed at the PreZero Arena, where they ended a run of four games without a win (D1, L3). He will be only too aware that St Pauli are yet to get going at the Millerntor-Stadion though, where their wait for a top-flight victory stretches back nine matches to February 2011 (D2, L7), while they are the only team in the Bundesliga yet to score at home this season (D2, L2).[/p]

[p]The hosts are probably fearing the visit of league leaders Bayern Munich, who have the second-best defensive record in the division ahead of this round, conceding just seven goals in nine games. Vincent Kompany’s side have also dropped only four points so far (W7, D2), and ahead of the round, they’re one of just three Bundesliga teams yet to lose an away league game this season (W4, D1).[/p]

[p]That domestic form was backed up by an important 1-0 success against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, which was also a fourth victory in a row across all competitions, each one accompanied by a clean sheet. History suggests they have a good chance of extending that run to five wins, given Bayern have come out on top in eight of the last ten H2Hs (D1, L1), including dishing out an 8-1 battering when these two sides last met in 2011.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: After his goal against Hoffenheim, St Pauli forward Oladapo Afolayan has an impressive record of winning 25 consecutive games in which he has scored, dating back to October 2021. Michael Olise is similarly influential, and he has netted first or last in seven of his last ten goalscoring appearances, while five of his seven strikes for Bayern Munich have come away from home.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: St Pauli have lost each of the five Bundesliga games in which they have conceded first this season.[/p]
