Stoke Hull prediction 2023-02-11

Stoke vs Hull prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-02-10 15:00.
Far from joining the Championshipā€™s congested race for the play-offs, struggling Stoke are being dragged into a relegation battle after a miserable run of just one win from their last six league games (D1, L4). Perhaps a recent tough run of fixtures is the biggest culprit for their downfall, as three of those defeats have come against sides currently residing within the top-four.

The latest setback in that sequence came in defeat against Luton (1-0), which led to frustrated manager Alex Neil stating that his side ā€˜didnā€™t take our chancesā€™. The Potters return to home comforts for this clash but even that might not improve the mood, as Stoke have conceded first in nine of their 14 league games on their own turf, while only Preston and Wigan have lost more home games than their seven this term.

The visit of Hull may well be timely then, as the Tigers have been well and truly mauled in this fixture of late, having lost the last four H2Hs by an aggregate score of 12-1! You have to go back to January 2006 for their last league victory on Stoke territory, with a dismal D3, L7 record since showing the size of the task that faces them.

Things have been looking up for Liam Roseniorā€™s men this term though, with the manager overseeing a change in fortune from relegation candidates to play-off hopefuls. Hull are just four points adrift of the top six ahead of the round, thanks to a stellar run of one defeat from their last eight road trips (W5, D2), while an air-tight defence thatā€™s conceded just five goals in nine Championship games has made Hull one of the toughest nuts to crack in the division.

Players to watch: Stoke forward Dwight Gayle could be crucial to his sideā€™s fortunes, having directly contributed to four goals against Hull in his career (G2, A2). The Tigers may hope Aaron Connolly makes the difference here though, as heā€™s won all nine of his senior goalscoring appearances.

Hot stat: No side has scored more than Hullā€™s ten Championship goals between the 75th minute and full-time in away games.
