Strasbourg vs Brest prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-02-22 16:15.
[p]After losing only one of their last nine Ligue 1 fixtures (W6, D2), Strasbourg have climbed the table to begin this gameweek in seventh and just three points off the European positions. Le Racing have beaten both Lens and Montpellier 2-0 over their last two games and this weekend have the opportunity to record three successive top-flight victories without conceding for the first time since January 2021.[/p]
[p]Liam Rosenior’s side are also targeting a fourth successive Ligue 1 home victory, something they have not achieved since November 2019. To achieve that, they will need to end a run of five winless H2Hs against Brest (D2, L3) which includes 3-1 and 3-0 defeats in their last two meetings – never before have they lost three successive H2Hs.[/p]
[p]Brest scored all three of their goals inside the first 60 minutes the last time they made the long trip to take on Strasbourg and they will arrive in the Alsace region for Sunday’s fixture targeting a fourth successive top-flight away victory. The last time they achieved that was in the 2010/11 season and their current run is all the more surprising as Éric Roy’s side had lost seven of their previous eight league games (W1) on the road.[/p]
[p]It is over a year since Brest drew away in Ligue 1 (W8, L9) and although they ended a run of 22 games (W12, L10) across all competitions without a stalemate in their last league fixture, their overall form has been poor from late January onwards (W2, D1, L4). They were thrashed 7-0 by compatriots PSG in Europe on Wednesday but will move above Strasbourg if they can bounce back with a win at the Stade de la Meinau.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Sebastian Nanasi assisted Strasbourg’s only goal in his first H2H with Brest in November and he found the net in their last home game against Montpellier. Ludovic Ajorque was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s heavy European loss but he has been in fine form in Ligue 1, scoring in each of his last six appearances.[/p]
[p]Hot streak: Brest have led 1-0 at half-time in each of their last three Ligue 1 away games.[/p]
