Strasbourg vs Lens prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-05 15:00.
[p]Sunday’s French action sees a clash between the only two English managers in Ligue 1 as Liam Rosenior’s Strasbourg welcome Will Still’s Lens. Rosenior has overseen a solid start with the Alsace outfit, losing just once in his six games at the helm so far (W2, D3, L1), securing their first clean sheet of the campaign with an impressive 1-0 victory over high-flying Marseille in the previous round. That should boost their hopes ahead of yet another clash against a top-eight finisher from last season.[/p]
[p]Not since 1995/96 have Strasbourg recorded so few defeats after seven rounds of a top-flight season, then going on to finish ninth, so returning home to the site of both their league victories this term could help them make some history here. Another positive result at Stade de la Meinau would provide an additional feather in the cap of Rosenior, as Strasbourg haven’t opened a Ligue 1 season with four unbeaten home games since 2007/08.[/p]
[p]Lens remain unbeaten in league action this season and retain favouritism despite travelling here on the back of four consecutive Ligue 1 draws (W2, D4). There are positives to take from that run of league stalemates as they boasted the best defence during that four-game period with just two goals conceded, although their two goals scored in reply also represents the worst attack in the league across the last four rounds. [/p]
[p]Visiting manager Still is yet to see his sides keep a clean sheet against Strasbourg after three attempts (W1, L2). However, the fact that Lens are unbeaten in eight of their last ten away league games entered as favourites (W5, D3, L2) means they may well inspire confidence to turn his H2H form around. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Andrey Santos has scored in three games for Strasbourg this season, each of which saw both teams contribute to a total of at least four goals in the game. Trying to outdo him will be Lens wing-back Przemysław Frankowski, who recorded his side’s first goal of the game in his last four scoring appearances. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Strasbourg have seen both teams score in a joint league-high 68% of their games since the start of last season, whilst seven of the last nine H2Hs hosted by Strasbourg also featured goals from both teams. [/p]
