Strasbourg Lille prediction 2025-01-25

Strasbourg vs Lille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-01-24 18:00.
[p]Starting 2025 by extending their unbeaten streak to seven competitive games (W5, D2), Liam Rosenior’s Strasbourg look well placed to mount an assault on Ligue 1’s top half. With only league leaders Paris Saint-Germain accruing more points than the Alsace outfit in the last five rounds, Le Racing may enter this weekend quietly confident of overturning their slender outsider status against third-placed Lille. [/p]

[p]Another reason for the hosts to believe is that they are one of only five teams entering this weekend with fewer than two home defeats in Ligue 1 this season (W4, D3, L1), although their record at the Stade de la Meinau against sides beginning matchday 19 above them reads a much more modest: W1, D1, L1. To tip the balance in favour of that win column here, Strasbourg will have to win successive home league H2Hs for the first time since the 1990s.[/p]

[p]Looking to keep that trend alive here, Lille make their second away trip in a few days after their midweek defeat in Liverpool, although they remain unbeaten in domestic action this year (W2, D2). That continental jaunt leaves them with fewer preparation days than their opponents, yet the UEFA Champions League participants may be expecting a positive result given boss Bruno Génésio’s strong H2H record in the dugout (W6, D3, L3). [/p]

[p]Playing away rarely seems to be an issue for Les Dogues, who have avoided defeat in all of their domestic trips since mid-September (W4, D5). Lille are on a run of four consecutive league draws on the road however – their longest set of top-flight draws on their travels since an identical sequence ending in 2008 – made more frustrating by the fact that they led twice in two of those matches. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: On loan from Strasbourg’s sister club Chelsea, Andrey Santos has sparked rumours of a recall this month, having netted decisively in two of the last three games in which he’s scored. For Lille, Premier League-linked Jonathan David has made eight goal contributions (G4, A4) in his last eight domestic appearances and has scored more times against Strasbourg (eight) than against any other team.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Strasbourg (45% – W5, D3, L3) and Lille (55% – W6, D5) have among the lowest win rates when scoring first in Ligue 1 this season. [/p]
