Strasbourg vs Monaco prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-03-09 14:00.
[p]In what seems like the relative safety of 12th place, youâd be forgiven for thinking Strasbourg would be sitting comfortably. But coming into this round just three points clear of the bottom three, they canât rest easy just yet, and having collected the joint-fewest points across the last five Ligue 1 rounds (D1, L4), itâs safe to say Strasbourg are losing momentum at the worst possible time. [/p]
[p]Their issues donât just stop at their five-game form, as theyâre actually winless in seven league games now (D3, L4), although the fact they scored in six of those games does perhaps offer a glimmer of hope. That does, though, raise a concern about Strasbourgâs defence, and justifiably so given theyâre without a league clean sheet since early November, although two of their last three home H2Hs against Monaco did see them win âto nilâ. [/p]
[p]A repeat would be a travesty for Monaco who, at the other end of the table, find themselves pushing for Champions League football. They occupy third spot coming into the round, but with no fewer than six teams immediately beneath all holding a realistic chance of catching them, they can ill afford to become complacent – something that with just two wins from their last six league games (D3, L1) you could argue they have been. [/p]
[p]At least theyâve been formidable away from home, winning four of their last five Ligue 1 games (D1), each of which came by a single-goal margin. Travelling to Strasbourg has proved problematic down the years however, especially on Sundays, with Monaco losing five of their last eight Sunday-held away H2Hs (W1, D2). [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Strasbourgâs Habib Diarra opened the scoring against Montpellier last week for his third goal this season, but he hasnât scored a home league goal since April 2023. Monacoâs Wissam Ben-Yedder closed the scoring in the reverse fixture, but he has never won or scored in an away H2H against Strasbourg (D1, L2).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Strasbourg have trailed at half-time in a league-high 13 games this season. [/p]
