Strasbourg St Etienne prediction 2025-04-26

Strasbourg vs St Etienne prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-04-25 15:00.
[p]After a pair of creditable draws against teams in the top five, Strasbourg remain in touch with the European places in Ligue 1. Le Racing begin the round outside of the top six on goal difference alone as they aim to qualify for Europe for just the second time in 19 years, and have a favourable run-in with three of their remaining four games coming against sides beginning the round in the bottom four.[/p]

[p]The first of those comes against Saint-Étienne and Strasbourg start big favourites having avoided defeat in their last ten matches (W7, D3), with only PSG (38) accumulating more points in 2025 than Liam Rosenior’s men pre-round (34). Solid foundations have been built on home turf, where Le Racing have been beaten just once in the league all season (W8, D5).[/p]

[p]Saint-Étienne were at least victorious in November’s reverse fixture (2-0), but that’s one of just seven victories they’ve managed in the league this season (D6, L17). Les Verts begin the round three points adrift of definite safety after a rousing 2-1 win over rivals Lyon last time out, but backing that up looks difficult as they’re yet to record successive victories in 2024/25.[/p]

[p]Rather ominously, their 27 points is exactly the same haul they managed at this stage in 2021/22 en route to relegation! An improvement on the road could go a long way to saving Eirik Horneland’s men, as they’ve only beaten bottom-of-the-table Montpellier away from home in Ligue 1 this season (D3, L11) and have lost their eight such matches against teams starting this round in the top half by an aggregate scoreline of 26-3![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Emanuel Emegha has scored after half-time in Strasbourg’s last two home games, both of which featured 4+ total match goals (W1, D1). Saint-Étienne’s Lucas Stassin has netted nine times in as many matches, including two in their only away win of the season.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Saint-Étienne have won all four league games they’ve led at half-time this season.[/p]
