Swansea QPR prediction 2022-09-03

Swansea vs QPR prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-09-02 14:00.
A rather cool Wednesday evening in Stoke resulted in a 1-1 draw for Swansea, though it undoubtedly should’ve been a better result after they conceded a stoppage-time equaliser for the second time this season. Swans boss Russell Martin insisted he was “proud” of his side’s performance despite the late goal, but it’s hard to deflect away from the building pressure on Martin after an average league start (W1, D3, L3).

The visit of QPR is unlikely to provide much respite for the under-fire boss, with Swansea failing to score in the last three H2Hs (D1, L2). As though the opposition wasn’t tough enough, a return to home turf may not be a welcome one considering Swansea are in the midst of a seven-match winless home run (D4, L3), despite holding a 2-0 and 3-0 lead in two of those games respectively.

In stark contrast, QPR are seemingly on the up after back-to-back wins propelled them onto the coat-tails of the early pace-setters. You can point to some clinical finishing as the reason for QPR’s early season form, with their 12 goals scored so far among the Championship’s highest, and expect a fast start from the R’s too, as nine of those came before the break.

Indeed it was three first-half goals which secured QPR all three points in their last outing against Hull, but again, Michael Beale’s side failed to keep a clean sheet (3-1). In fact ahead of the round QPR are one of just four Championship sides without a shut-out this season, but the incentive for securing a third-straight away H2H win for the first time since 1981 could prove to be the catalyst for a strong QPR defensive showing.

Players to watch: Swansea’s Joël Piroe opened the scoring against Stoke and has done so in his last two home scoring appearances. Meanwhile, QPR’s Chris Willock has seen all four of his goals this season arrive before half-time.

Hot stat: QPR have only kept one clean sheet in 18 Championship away games, though it was against Swansea!
