Torino vs Monza prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-11-23 14:00.
[p]An injury crisis is threatening to derail Torino’s season, so the international break might have come at the perfect time as a result. The Bulls were missing a number of key players during their 2-0 loss to rivals Juventus a fortnight ago, a result which left manager Paolo Vanoli bemoaning the lack of attacking options available to him as his side suffered a third successive defeat, each of them without scoring[/p]
[p]The league table therefore looks very different now compared to towards the end of October, when a 1-0 victory over Como left Torino in a European place. Instead of dreaming of qualifying for a major UEFA competition for only the third time this century, fans are now nervously looking over their shoulders, as remarkably just five points separate the club from the bottom three just over a month later.[/p]
[p]One of those teams in the relegation zone ahead of the weekend’s action is Monza, whose form is just as bad as their hosts. The White and Reds have also failed to score in each of their last three matches, all of which ended in defeat and as such, they sit two points from safety and have left supporters fearing about a return to the second tier after three seasons in Serie A.[/p]
[p]Their most recent result was a 1-0 loss against Lazio, which applied further pressure on the shoulders of manager Alessandro Nesta, who admits his side are being punished for making “the same mistakes” game after game. He’ll be hoping then that a fortnight without a match is just the tonic Monza needed to rediscover some form, but their record against Torino, who they’ve not beaten since 1990 (D4, L10), leaves little to be confident about.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Torino will be keen for Nikola Vlašić to end his five-game goal drought, as he’s only lost three of the last 19 games in which he’s scored (W14, D2). Monza’s main aggressor is likely to be Dany Mota, who has netted first or last in six of his last eight goalscoring appearances.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: A half-time lead could be crucial in this game, as neither Monza (L4) or Torino (L5) have rescued a single point when trailing at the break in Serie A this season.[/p]
