Torino vs Salernitana prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-04-15 13:00.
After a pair of back-to-back wins in Serie A (SA) at the beginning of March reignited their ambitions for a top-half finish, Torino have since regressed by failing to win any of their last three matches (D1, L2). Their susceptibility when starting poorly was heavily exposed during this poor run, as that three-game drought consequently means they remain winless this league season when conceding first (D4, L9) and/or when trailing at half-time (D3, L5).
The Bull will return home needing to get back on the horse, particularly as they’ve been generous hosts to their visitors lately after losing consecutive games without scoring. The Stadio Olimpico di Torino faithful won’t be holding their breath for goals at all, nevermind from their own team, having seen the net bulge a league-low 24 times in total this SA season.
Opponents Salernitana will have mixed emotions about their history-making 1-1 draw with Inter Milan last time out, as on the one hand, it was their sixth successive league match undefeated, and they've only ever gone seven games without losing once before in their top-flight history. But on the other hand, it was their fifth consecutive draw since starting this unbeaten run with a 3-0 win against Monza, the first time they’ve drawn that many SA matches in a row.
If nothing else, the Garnets have kept the points rolling in their fight for survival, now opening a comfortable seven-point gap over the bottom three prior to this round. Their previous meeting with Torino also ended honours even with a 1-1 stalemate back in January, although that result demonstrated some progress after Salernitana failed to score in five of the previous six H2Hs (W1, D2, L3).
Players to watch: Torino’s top-scorer Antonio Sanabria has scored four of his last seven goals between minutes 31-45, including the match opener against Salernitana earlier this season. The equaliser that day came soon after (49th minute) from Tonny Vilhena, contributing to four of his last six goals coming after half-time.
Hot streak: Each game in Salernitana’s five-match drawing streak has seen an equal amount of goals scored in each half.
