Tottenham Burnley prediction 2024-05-11

Tottenham vs Burnley prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-05-10 14:00.
[p]After four successive defeats, Tottenham look near certainties to miss out on the Champions League next season unless they can close a seven-point gap to fourth-placed Aston Villa in their three remaining games. Spurs realistically need to win each of their last three and hope Villa lose their last two, but given two of the North Londoners’ remaining fixtures come against the current bottom two, starting with the visit of Burnley, perhaps all hope isn’t lost just yet. [/p]

[p]Ange Postecoglou’s side have already beaten the Clarets twice this season in league and cup action, and having won the last five home H2Hs ‘to nil’ it’s difficult to look past them making it a hat-trick here. Even if they do come out on top, it is hard to see them securing another clean sheet victory at least, as Spurs last 13 home league games have seen both teams score with over 2.5 goals in each match. [/p]

[p]Burnley games have also been an entertaining spectacle at times, with eight of their last nine league outings witnessing both teams find the back of the net. They were on the wrong end of that last weekend as they went down 4-1 against Newcastle – a result which essentially consigns them to the Championship next season as they now trail 17th-placed Nottingham Forest by five points with just two games remaining. [/p]

[p]Anything other than a win here will see Burnley’s relegation confirmed, although all hope isn’t perhaps lost just yet, as a win here coupled with a Forest loss against Chelsea would see their quest to pull off the great escape go to the final day, where they play none other than Forest! A winless record against current top-half sides this season (D3, L16) would suggest that’s nothing more than a pipe dream for Vincent Kompany’s side though. [/p]

[p]Key battle: Despite netting a hat-trick before the 70th minute in the reverse fixture, Heung-min Son’s last six Spurs goals have come after that mark. Dara O’Shea’s primary focus will be to keep Son quiet here, but the Burnley centre back also has an eye for a goal against top-half sides, scoring three headers this season – all against sides sitting in the top seven.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Four of the last five H2Hs have been decided by a 1-0 scoreline.[/p]
