Tottenham Chelsea prediction 2023-11-06

Tottenham vs Chelsea prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-11-05 20:00.
In the midst of their best start to a top-flight season since 1960/61, Tottenham’s 26 points after ten games (W8, D2) was enough to see them top the table coming into this round. They’ve had plenty of time to prepare for this London derby with Chelsea too, as their last outing came over a week ago in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, after which boss Ange Postecolou interestingly said Spurs fans could dare to dream of a first-ever PL title.

They’d be wise not to get carried away, especially with Chelsesa standing in their way here, a side Spurs have beaten just once in the last nine PL meetings (D2, L6). Chelsea have had a long standing hold over Spurs, who have conceded more home PL goals against the Blues (51) than any other side in the competition’s history – a record that threatens to deny Postecoglou becoming just the third manager in PL history to go unbeaten in his first-ever 11 games in the league.

Despite progressing to the EFL quarter finals in midweek with a routine 2-0 win over Blackburn, Chelsea’s PL momentum was thwarted last weekend, as their run of three league games unbeaten (W2, D1) was ended by Brentford at Stamford Bridge. In the wake of that 2-0 defeat, boss Mauricio Pochettino claimed his side weren’t clinical enough, a claim that’s in keeping with the fact their 13 goals scored after ten PL games is their lowest tally since 2007/08!

The Blues went on to finish second that season, going unbeaten against Tottenham (W1, D1), with the dropped points coming away from home, although the neutrals won’t mind if that’s the case again as that game incredibly finished 4-4! While a repeat seems unlikely, Chelsea did interestingly score four on their last PL away outing, a 4-1 victory at Burnley, part of a three match unbeaten run in PL road trips (W2, D1).

Players to watch: Firmly in the golden boot race, Heung-min Son has netted in four of Spurs’ last five PL outings and scored in each of his three London derby appearances this season. Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling was on the scoresheet in their last away win at Burnley, while his eight goals against Spurs is the joint most he’s scored against any of the other traditional ‘big six’ clubs.

Hot stat: Neither Tottenham or Chelsea have trailed at half-time in the PL this season, with both seeing seven of their ten games stand level at the break.
