Tottenham Manchester City prediction 2025-02-26

Tottenham vs Manchester City prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-02-25 19:30.
[p]Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 win over Manchester City back in November turned out to be an anomaly rather than the start of something special, so that result may carry no weight whatsoever going into the rematch in London this week. The top six was still ten points away at the start of this round of fixtures, but Spurs appear to have turned a corner as their injury crisis abates.[/p]

[p]They bullied newly promoted Ipswich Town (W 4-1) on Saturday for a third straight Premier League win, prompting head coach Ange Postecoglou to slam the “hysteria” that had surrounded the club, including speculation about a potential relegation. Postecoglou’s first-choice centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven won’t be back until next week at the earliest, but their replacements have done well to concede just one league goal from the 15 shots on target faced in February. [/p]

[p]As he looks to cement his side in the top four, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola also sees a “bright future” for them as he praised “the way we lost” against likely Premier League champions Liverpool (2-0) on Sunday. The FA Cup therefore now appears to be City’s only chance of silverware this season, but it’s just as important that the squad focuses on qualifying for next term’s UEFA Champions League by virtue of their league position. [/p]

[p]Their next two games could be decisive on that front, because City’s away form in England’s top flight has so far fallen short of the standards of a top-four aspirant. Guardiola’s men have won just five of their 13 Premier League matches on the road this season (D3, L5), and with three of those wins coming against teams ending the weekend in the table’s bottom five, it just further underlines their poor record against the league’s stronger sides this term.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Brennan Johnson put the icing on the cake with the last of Spurs’ four goals in the reverse fixture against City and, more recently, delivered their first two at the weekend. City could do with a drought-breaker from Phil Foden, particularly as seven of his ten goals in all competitions this season have come away from home.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: The last six Premier League H2Hs at Tottenham have only seen one side score (Spurs: W4, L2).  [/p]
