Toulouse Marseille prediction 2024-08-31

Toulouse vs Marseille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-08-30 19:00.
[p]Toulouse have hardly set Ligue 1 ablaze so far this season with  0-0 and 1-1 draws against Nantes and Nice respectively, but getting points on the board early will be seen as a positive. Manager Carles Martínez will view those defensive efforts as a great launching pad for his side, as he continues to tweak his offensive system that is clearly suffering from the loss of last season’s top-scorer Thijs Dallinga to Serie A side Bologna. [/p]

[p]The Stadium Municipal faithful will be hoping their Spanish manager finds the right formula sooner rather than later, or they could go their first three games of a league season without victory for just the second time in the last decade. But based on H2H history against Marseille, their fate might already be sealed with Toulouse not beating them in any of their last 20 Ligue 1 encounters (D8, L12)[/p]

[p]Marseille have started the season on fire from an attacking sense and will be confident they can continue their dominant streak, having scored a mammoth seven goals in their first two outings. The majority of those came in a 5-1 win over Brest to open their season on the road, but a leaky defensive showing meant they could only follow that up with a 2-2 draw at home to Reims last time out. [/p]

[p]New boss Roberto De Zerbi has clearly instilled his offensive philosophy into his new side, and with Marseille having no European commitments for the first time since 2019/20, he has plenty of time to develop his crop of players. One thing the Italian will be keen on improving from last season is the Phocaeans’ poor away league record (W3, D5, L9), but if they produce a performance similar to that against Brest, then you’d back them to have no such troubles. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Toulouse will hope Zakaria Aboukhlal can get them off to a hot start since nine of his last ten goals have served as his side’s opener. Hoping to outgun him will be Marseille’s summer signing Elye Wahi, who has an action-packed history with Toulouse with two goals, an assist, and two yellow cards in his four previous H2Hs.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: The second half has produced more goals than the first in six of the last eight H2Hs.[/p]
