Toulouse Troyes prediction 2023-02-01

Toulouse vs Troyes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-01-31 18:00.
Toulouse have started 2023 with a bang as their 2-1 Ligue 1 win over Strasbourg on Sunday was their fourth league game unbeaten since the New Year (W3, D1), a run that has lifted them closer to the top half. In fact, no team has a better four-game record in Ligue 1 than they do at the moment, so Toulouse are well on course to avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

They’ve only lost one of their last seven home league fixtures too (W4, D2), so the Stadium Municipal has become something of a fortress for Le Téfécé. Home supporters will now expect that run to continue against Troyes, as Toulouse haven’t lost a home H2H this millennium (W4, D3), keeping clean sheets in each of the last three such meetings (W2, D1).

Not that Troyes will be overawed ahead of their trip south after claiming a valuable point against Ligue 1 high-flyers Lens (D 1-1) on Saturday, a game which cruelly saw them concede an 88th-minute equaliser. As their winless run continues (D1, L3), thoughts of a relegation battle won’t be far from their fans’ minds though, as Troyes precariously sit just four points above the four-team relegation zone.

But those supporters heading to Toulouse may expect entertainment as Troyes’ last six Ligue 1 away fixtures (W2, L4) produced an exciting average of five goals per game, and their team are still yet to draw on the road this term in the league (W3, L7). Manager Patrick Kisnorbo praised his side’s “great character” against Lens, so more of the same is required against another of France’s in-form outfits.

Players to watch: Brecht Dejaegere has netted in four of Toulouse’s last six home league games, three times between half-time and the 65th minute. Troyes’ Mama Baldé could also be in the thick of the action, as he’s scored three goals and been sent off once across his last three league away appearances.

Hot streak: Toulouse are unbeaten in every home league match they have started as favourites this term (W4, D4).
