While midtable Troyes have hardly pulled up any trees this season (W3, D3, L5), their record of just one league defeat across their last four matches (W1, D2) does at least highlight they’re tough to overcome. Late goals have been the story of their most recent two home matches as the jubilant scenes from snatching a 90th minute equaliser against Reims were countered by the despair of conceding in the closing stages against Ajaccio last weekend, meaning they’ve now drawn each of their previous three fixtures at home.
As a result of those late goals, only two Ligue 1 teams have seen more home league goals scored after the 75th minute than Troyes’ total of five. Last season’s H2H at this venue was decided by two first-half goals though, extending the hosts' record to three straight home league wins against Lorient. vThat’s unsurprisingly their best start to a Ligue 1 season ever, yet despite their success, last weekend’s 0-0 draw against Reims was Lorient’s first clean sheet in the competition for six matches. They’ll now aim to secure successive Ligue 1 clean sheets for the first time since March, although this has historically been a difficult venue for Lorient to do so, managing just one across their last nine matches held here (W2, D2, L5).
Players to watch: Key midfielders Rominigue KouamĂ© (TRY) and Enzo Le FĂ©e (LOR) have both drawn an identical number of Ligue 1 fouls (24) this season – only six players across the division had suffered more coming into this round of action.
Hot stat: Only matches involving Montpellier had produced more goals on average than Troyes’ fixtures after 11 Ligue 1 rounds (3.73).
