Twente FC Volendam prediction 2024-05-12

Twente vs FC Volendam prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2024-05-11 12:30.
[p]FC Twente is one of the few clubs in the competition that could still benefit greatly from  winning this Sunday. The Tukkers currently hold third place, which entitles them to the Champions League preliminary round next season, but they’re only two points above AZ Alkmaar after losing 2-1 to their direct competitor last weekend. In total, Twente have now won just three of their last seven matches (D1, L3).[/p]

[p]It would be the first time since 2011 that Twente participates in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League if they are to get there. In that respect, it could be a relief that their next opponents FC Volendam no longer have anything to play for after they were officially relegated from the Eredivisie last week. Twente also came out on top in six of their last seven meetings with Het Andere Oranje (L1), who scored only one goal in the last four head-to-head meetings.[/p]

[p]The curtain has fallen over FC Volendam. After internal arguments, dismissals at board level, a change of head coach and lawsuits involving former players, their on-field failures have now finally taken their toll. Volendam will return to the Eerste Divisie after two seasons at the highest level. A 4-1 defeat at provincial neighbour Ajax last weekend was the final straw for the struggling club.[/p]

[p]Stand-in captain Damon Mirani caused further trouble when he wondered out loud on camera whether he should hope that Vitesse would be declared bankrupt so that points could be taken away from other clubs, but he apologised for what he described as an emotional post-match interview. This will also be a fascinating game for former Volendam captain Carel Eiting, who had to go through the courts last summer to seal his transfer to Twente.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Naci Ünüvar has been directly involved in a goal in his last three matches against Volendam (G1, A2) and has an opportunity to further extend that against Volendam’s Mio Backhaus, who is the starting goalkeeper with the fewest clean sheets in the Eredivisie (two).[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Volendam conceded at least one goal in each of their last 20 away games in all competitions.[/p]
