Udinese AS Roma prediction 2025-01-26

Udinese vs AS Roma prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-01-25 14:00.
[p]Seven points adrift of the top-six pre-round, and as many points clear of the relegation zone, Udinese are caught in a bit of no man’s land. Their form would suggest they’re more of a relegation candidate than a European hopeful as they’ve won just two of their last 12 Serie A games (D4, L6), although that can be narrowed down to a more positive record of one defeat in their last five (W1, D3).[/p]

[p]The arrival of Roma won’t offer much hope for getting back amongst the wins, as Udinese have only lost more Serie A matches against Juventus (69) than they have against Roma (54). That includes a whopping eight defeats from the last 11 home H2Hs (W2, D1), and their preparations for this clash have been thrown into turmoil by the fact goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is now under investigation for possible match fixing. [/p]

[p]Roma will be looking to capitalise upon that turmoil, but their preparations for this clash haven’t been ideal either, as they went down 1-0 to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League in midweek. That brought to an end their six-match unbeaten competitive run (W4, D2), but boss Claudio Ranieri should be confident of seeing his side get back on the winning trail having won six of his last eight personal H2Hs (D2).[/p]

[p]Getting back to winning ways against one of Raneiri’s favoured opponents after their midweek European disappointment would see Roma win back-to-back league games for the first time since September. They’ll have to do something they haven’t done in Serie A since April 2024 to do so though, and that’s win on the road – their winless run stands at 13 matches currently (D7 L6), but their last such win came on this ground![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Proficient in the air, Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca has scored six of his last eight Serie A goals with his head. For Roma, only against Chievo (7) has Stephan El Shaarawy scored more career goals than he has against Udinese (6), also winning more games against the Friulians in his career than any other opponent (14). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only four of Roma’s ten away league games this term saw a first-half goal scored – a league-low. [/p]
