Udinese Torino prediction 2024-12-29

Udinese vs Torino prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-12-28 11:30.
[p]Two sides sat in the mid-table positions in Serie A over Christmas face off on matchday 18, as Udinese look to seize their chance and move further towards the European qualification places. The hosts begin this round eight points shy of sixth spot and knowing that a maximum haul is needed here against Torino to begin to bridge that gap, a side they have a chequered recent H2H history with. [/p]

[p]Udinese have won just one of their last seven Serie A games against this opponent (D1, L5) which will hardly serve as a confidence boost for the home faithful, especially as they’ve lost each of their last two home H2Hs. That’s particularly worrying with a glance at the hosts’ recent form at Stadio Friuli too, where they’ve lost each of their last three league outings by a two-goal margin, whilst scoring just a single goal in the process! [/p]

[p]Torino travel east in their own torrid recent form, taking just a single win across their last eight Serie A matches (D2, L5) as their brilliant start to the campaign continues to dissipate. The visitors were easily beaten last time out 2-0 at home by Bologna but as they won their last away outing at Empoli (1-0), they should travel with at least a little confidence under their belt. [/p]

[p]The away side can also take plenty of heart from their recent form against Udinese, winning ten of their 18 league H2Hs (D4, L4) over the last ten top-flight campaigns – their most against a single opponent in that time. In less promising news for Paolo Vanoli’s side, they haven’t won their final match of a calendar year in Serie A since all the way back in 2016, failing to win any of their seven such matches since then (D4, L3)![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Udinese will hope that captain Florian Thauvin can find the back of the net here, as his side have won four of five competitive matches in which he’s netted this season (L1), including against Fiorentina last time out. Torino’s Antonio Sanabria will be looking to break his duck here, as he’s never faced a side more often than Udinese without scoring (eight matches). [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Genoa’s away Serie A matches have witnessed both teams score just once – a joint-league low figure.  [/p]
