Uganda Tanzania prediction 2025-12-27

Uganda vs Tanzania prediction: AFRICA: Africa Cup of Nations betting tips on match 2025-12-26 17:30.
[p]Defeat could spell an early Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) elimination for either Uganda or Tanzania, as two teams who lost their opening Group C game go face-to-face.[/p]

[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]

[p]Uganda’s third AFCON campaign since going all the way to the final in 1978 got off to a poor start on Tuesday as they were beaten 3-1 by Tunisia. That was a third loss in four matches for the Cranes (W1), and a sixth in nine games at the AFCON finals (W1, D2), with another reversal here likely fatal for their hopes of progression given that they face heavyweights Nigeria on matchday three. Paul Put’s men are looking to avoid suffering three successive losses for the first time since November 2023, and can at least fall back on a three-game winning streak in World Cup qualifying between September and October.[/p]

[p]Opponents Tanzania were also beaten in their opening match, going down 2-1 to Nigeria, stretching their wait for a first win at an AFCON finals (D3, L7). They’re winless in eight games overall (D2, L6), losing the last five in a row, the most recent two of which came under new boss Miguel Ángel Gamondi. The Argentine has managed to get his new team scoring though, as after firing blanks in five of their six games before his arrival, Tanzania have netted four times in the two matches of his tenure.[/p]

[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]

[p]Despite losing two of the last three H2Hs (W1), Uganda historically have the better of this match-up, landing 12 victories in the last 20 meetings (D4, L4). [/p]

[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]

[p]Uganda’s last four matches have all featured over 2.5 goals.[/p]

[p]Only three of Uganda’s last 11 competitive internationals saw both teams score.[/p]

[p]Tanzania have scored first in just two of their previous ten AFCON matches.[/p]

[p]Only three of Tanzania’s last nine competitive internationals saw both teams score.[/p]

[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]

[p]Five of Rogers Mato’s seven goals for Uganda have served as the first or last of the game, including two strikes against Tanzania. The Taifa Stars will be desperate for Simon Msuva to score, as they are unbeaten in the last 13 games he’s netted in (W8, D5).[/p]

[p]Uganda do not have any obvious fresh injuries. Yakoub Suleiman and Feisal Salum both missed Tanzania’s opening game.[/p]
