Union Berlin Dortmund prediction 2024-10-05

Union Berlin vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-10-04 13:30.
[p]In a congested top-half of the Bundesliga, just two points separated Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund at the end of five rounds, adding extra importance to a week where both clubs are trying to build some momentum domestically. After picking up each of their two Bundesliga wins at home to struggling clubs, Union are chasing a fourth straight home league victory, but face a very stern test here.[/p]

[p]Itā€™s a test theyā€™ve passed more often than not in recent years, winning three of the last five H2Hs on home soil in the league (L2) despite finishing beneath Dortmund in the final standings on all five occasions. Those wins were all under previous management, however, and current head coach Bo Svensson may have to consult some of the more long-standing members of the playing and management groups about how to break his own personal drought of six games against Dortmund without a win (D2, L4).[/p]

[p]Just like their opponents, Dortmund have also picked up all of their Bundesliga wins this term on their own turf and with a flurry of goals at both ends. So high are their standards these days that their ten points picked up so far is their equal-worst haul after the first five rounds since 2014/15. Theyā€™ve fallen to 2-0 deficits within 21 minutes in each of their last two Bundesliga matches, but learned from their mistakes away to Stuttgart (L 5-1) to overcome Bochum (W 4-2) last round.[/p]

[p]Manager Nuri Şahin demanded a response and an improvement in ā€œbasicsā€ following their previous away league trip, and thereā€™s no doubt that he got his wish in the UEFA Champions League in midweek as his side romped to a 7-1 thrashing of Celtic. And when you consider that only three Bundesliga clubs have outscored the Black and Yellows so far this season, entertainment could well be in store in the German capital.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Following his goal against Hoffenheim two rounds back, Unionā€™s Jeong Woo-yeong has recorded nine of his 13 Bundesliga goals at home, and has never lost when doing so (W7, D2). Meanwhile, Dortmund’s summer arrival Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring in both of his H2H league wins ā€˜to nilā€™ last season and looks set to haunt Union again given that heā€™s scored six times in his last four matches.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Pre-match favourites have an unbeaten W7, D3 record in Bundesliga games involving either club this season.Ā [/p]
