Union Berlin Holstein Kiel prediction 2025-03-02

Union Berlin vs Holstein Kiel prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-03-01 14:30.
[p]It has been a dark time to be a Union Berlin fan, as although their club isn’t in any immediate danger of relegation, their 6-0 drubbing suffered at Borussia Dortmund last Saturday is just the tip of a very cold iceberg for Steffen Baumgart’s side. Not only was that Union’s heaviest-ever Bundesliga defeat, but their 24 points from 23 league games this season is their worst-ever points haul at this stage of a top-flight campaign. [/p]

[p]The negative records do not stop there, as Die Eisernen’s 21 goals scored this league season also represents an all-time club low after 23 top-flight matchdays. A turnaround may be on the horizon though, as their next opponents are a Holstein Kiel side who the Berliners have defeated 2-0 in their last three competitive meetings, a run which boosts their chances of remaining unbeaten for a 12th consecutive Bundesliga home game against promoted opposition (W8, D3 currently). [/p]

[p]That doesn’t bode well for bottom club Kiel, who are all but relegated at this point, as no team who has had 13 or fewer points this late into a Bundesliga season has ever survived. The biggest reason for the Storks’ struggles is that they possess comfortably the league’s worst defence this campaign (GA59), as in attack, they have proved that they can carry a threat, having scored in the nine games prior to their 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.[/p]

[p]Sadly for Marcel Rapp and his men, they have often been dead and buried by half-time, having conceded the most first-half goals in Europe’s traditional top five leagues so far this season (36). The travelling fans will at least be expecting to celebrate a goal at some stage regardless of the result however, since Kiel are one of just two sides in Europe’s traditional top five leagues, along with Liverpool, to have scored in each of their away games this term. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Union’s Andrej Ilić could be the man that gets them off to a good start, since he has netted the opener for his team on the day in eight of his last nine goalscoring outings. Kiel defender David Zec will be attempting to stop Ilić, but he will have to do so with caution, having picked up four yellow cards in his last five matches.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Union’s last ten games have all seen the half-time result replicated at full-time.[/p]
