Union Berlin Stuttgart prediction 2025-04-19

Union Berlin vs Stuttgart prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-04-18 16:30.
[p]Entering the final five rounds having accrued more points across the last five games than both of the top-two Bundesliga sides, Union Berlin (W3, D2) have all but secured a seventh season in the top flight. Surviving by goal difference alone last time around, Union have now already bettered their 2023/24 points haul by drawing against reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen last weekend. [/p]

[p]Returning home could stimulate further progress as Union look for a third straight unbeaten home league game for the first time in 2025. A strong start would surely inspire confidence as Union have dropped a league-low three points when taking the lead (W9, L1), though the only defeat in that sequence was in the 3-2 reverse loss against Stuttgart, who have dropped a league-high 21 points when leading this term (W11, D3, L5). [/p]

[p]The latest of those dropped points came in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat against Werder Bremen, which leaves Stuttgart needing a minor miracle if they’re to achieve a top-six finish. Thankfully for the Swabians, four of their five remaining games come against fellow bottom-half sides, whom Stuttgart boast a solid record against (W6, D4, L2), going unbeaten across all six away games against such sides (W3, D3). [/p]

[p]While Stuttgart are suffering an ongoing negative club record run of five successive Bundesliga home defeats, they’ve remained unbeaten in eight of their last ten away (W4, D4, L2). Despite the positives, Stuttgart’s historical away record against Union should be enough to raise concerns around their favourites tag (W1, D3, L4), as will the fact they’ll be missing Nick Woltemade through suspension this weekend – he’s their second-highest goal contributor this season (BUN: G9, A2). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Union defender Leopold Querfeld is an offensive threat, managing a shot on target against Leverkusen last weekend while he also assisted in his last home appearance. Stuttgart’s own defender Leonidas Stergiou became the 17th different player to score in the league for the club this season last weekend, setting a new club record in the process. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Just three of the 14 all-time H2Hs between these sides stood goalless at half-time.[/p]
