Union Berlin Wolfsburg prediction 2025-04-06

Union Berlin vs Wolfsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-04-05 15:30.
[p]After suffering three successive Bundesliga defeats between mid-February and early March, it was looking like Union Berlin would be stuck in a relegation dogfight come the end of the season, but their recent form has seen them turn a corner. A 2-1 win at Freiburg last weekend extended their mini unbeaten run in the German top flight to three games (W2, D1) and as a result, they begin this latest matchday eight points above the bottom three. [/p]

[p]Next up, Union will look to improve on what is a poor Bundesliga record against Wolfsburg, after winning just three of their 11 previous H2Hs in the division (D3, L5). That could be tough to do here unless Die Eisernen can begin to address their terrible home form in this clash, as they have only won one of their last ten such games (D4, L5), which has contributed to their 16-point tally in their 13 league matches at Stadion An der Alten Försterei this term – their lowest total at this stage of a top-flight campaign. [/p]

[p]A boost for the hosts could come from the fact that Wolfsburg have won just two of their last ten Bundesliga encounters (D5, L3) as a very disappointing 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Heidenheim put further distance between themselves and the European qualification spots. A four-point gap to sixth-placed RB Leipzig has now opened up ahead of this round of fixtures, although Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men can take comfort from the fact that their away form has been impressive this season. [/p]

[p]Both those victories across their last ten league outings have come on the road, which sees Wolfsburg enter this matchday with the biggest positive difference of any Bundesliga team between away and home points-per-game totals this campaign. Only Bayer Leverkusen (29) and Bayern Munich (28) have picked up more points in the division on their travels this season ahead of this weekend than the Wolves (23), who will be desperate to add to that tally here. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Each of Andrej Ilić’s three goals for Union this term have come from February onwards, with each also coming in the second half. Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind, by contrast, has ten goals to his name in 2024/25, with three serving as match openers. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Union have failed to score in 12 of their 27 Bundesliga games this season – the competition’s second-highest total.  [/p]
