Uruguay vs Venezuela prediction: SOUTH AMERICA: World Championship – Qualification betting tips on match 2025-06-10 23:00.
[p]Uruguay have never previously qualified for five successive FIFA World Cup finals and, despite beginning this round of fixtures in fifth place, still have work to do if they are to reach their fifth edition in a row in 2026. A 2-0 defeat away at Paraguay on Friday means La Celeste are level on points with Colombia in the final automatic qualification place and with three matchdays remaining are only three points ahead of the side they host on Tuesday, Venezuela, who sit in the inter-confederation play-off berth.[/p]
[p]Marcelo Bielsa’s side are also struggling for form after winning only one of their last ten games (D6, L3) and have not even found the net in any of their three fixtures in 2025! The arrival of Venezuela could therefore be just what Uruguay require to get their qualification back on track as they have lost just one of the last 13 H2Hs (W5, D7), a run which stretches back to October 2006.[/p]
[p]La Vinotinto lost 4-1 on their last visit to Montevideo but kept Uruguay to 0-0 draws in the other three of the four H2Hs since 2017, while they come into this fixture after back-to-back home wins against Peru (1-0) and Bolivia (2-0). Those victories see Venezuela begin this matchday with a four-point cushion ahead of Bolivia in eighth and only four points behind Brazil in fourth.[/p]
[p]If results go their way on Tuesday, then Venezuela could be guaranteed at least the play-off position ahead of the final two games, with a place at their first ever FIFA World Cup one step closer. But there is still a very long way to go to realise that goal, and with five successive away defeats since September 2024, Fernando Batista’s team will be taking nothing for granted.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Facundo Pellistri provided an assist in Uruguay’s last victory as well as two during Uruguay’s 4-1 H2H home win in February 2022. Salomón Rondón has scored in both of Venezuela’s last two games (W2) and his country won four of the five games (D1) during this qualification cycle when he found the net!  [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Venezuela were already behind at half-time in each of their last three away fixtures (L3).[/p]
