Valencia Celta Vigo prediction 2025-02-02

Valencia vs Celta Vigo prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-02-01 15:15.
[p]A four-game unbeaten streak (W3, D1) would’ve had Valencia feeling confident ahead of their trip to Barcelona last weekend, but a 7-1 mauling saw them concede seven times in a top-flight match for the first time since 1955. Defeat saw them remain rooted in the relegation zone on a mere 16 points, which is their second-worst tally at this stage of a La Liga season after their haul of 14 in 1982/83.[/p]

[p]Manager Carlos Corberán will be leaning on those in the Mestalla to uplift his team like they did when Valencia won their last home game 1-0 against Real Sociedad, and in return he’ll try to secure back-to-back home league wins for the first time since February 2024. The visit of Celta Vigo is perhaps timely then, since Los Ches have lost just two of the last 30 home H2Hs in La Liga (W20, D8). [/p]

[p]Celta haven’t even managed to score a goal in any of their last five league visits to the Mestalla (D1, L4), but did manage three in their last visit there in a Copa del Rey tie and this season’s return fixture, winning both 3-1. Celta will therefore be eyeing up a league double over their hosts for the first time since that dreaded 1982/83 season for Valencia. [/p]

[p]Holding the Sky Blues back in that endeavour may be their poor recent form, which reads no wins in their last four matches (D1, L3) and has contributed to going winless in their last six La La Liga away games too (D2, L4). To make matters worse for manager Claudio Giráldez, he’ll have to deal with the fact that Celta have lost seven of their last nine La Liga visits to teams from the Valencia region (W1, D1). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Diego López scored Valencia’s goal when these two met earlier this season, which contributed to him scoring his team’s opener in seven of his nine goalscoring outings in La Liga. Another fan of this fixture is Celta’s Anastasios Douvikas, who has scored three goals in his four prior appearances against Valencia.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Valencia have trailed in a league-high seven La Liga away games this season. [/p]
