Valencia Getafe prediction 2025-05-10

Valencia vs Getafe prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-09 12:00.
[p]Valencia are within striking distance of the La Liga top half following their hard-fought 3-2 win over Las Palmas last weekend and they’re even in contention to qualify for Europe. Despite that result extending their unbeaten league streak to nine matches (W5, D4), coach Carlos Corberán has warned his side not to relax now that survival – his primary aim when he took over in December – is all but secure.[/p]

[p]Los Ches have plenty to be pleased about as they approach their penultimate home league outing of the season against Getafe, with a turnaround at the Mestalla largely behind their revival under Corberán. They’ve won six of their last eight La Liga fixtures here (D1, L1), and with four of those six victories being accompanied by a clean sheet, defensive solidity could once again hold the key to success.[/p]

[p]Getafe have watched Valencia overtake them in recent weeks after losing four straight La Liga fixtures, with their 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano last Friday their third in a row by that scoreline. Victory here could yet revive their top-half prospects, but those narrow defeats hint at a tight battle between two teams that are separated by just three points with four matches remaining.[/p]

[p]That’s backed up by recent meetings as none of the last four H2Hs produced more than two goals, with José Bordelás’ side struggling at this venue, where they haven’t won a H2H since April 2018 (D3, L4). Losing their last two away league games by conceding before half-time and then having a man sent off after the break suggests there’s little hope of ending that run here, but Getafe can be encouraged by the fact that they rank seventh in La Liga’s away table ahead of the round, so they’ve proved they can perform on the road.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Javi Guerra has scored in both of Valencia’s last two home games, with seven of his eight career La Liga goals arriving after half-time. Omar Alderete, the last man to score for Getafe, has earned five of his seven La Liga yellow cards this season in away games.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Each of Getafe’s last four league games (and four of Valencia’s last five) produced exactly one first-half goal.[/p]
