Valladolid vs Ath Bilbao prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-11-09 17:30.
[p]Real Valladolid have spent this week in the relegation zone having lost eight of their first 12 La Liga matches of the 2024/25 season (W2, D2). By conceding no more than two goals in each of their last seven league outings (W1, D1), Paulo Pezzolano’s side have been hanging in there albeit without the desired results at least, and he was still encouraged by their loss at Osasuna as it only came due to a penalty he felt was unwarranted.[/p]
[p]As Pezzolano looks to avoid becoming the first Valladolid coach to record four consecutive top-flight home defeats, the calibre of clubs they have been conquered by this season looks most discouraging ahead of this latest outing. That’s because seven of the eight teams to defeat Valladolid this term joined Athletic Club in the top half of the table at the end of last round, which includes each of those three consecutive La Liga losses on home soil. [/p]
[p]Athletic kept fellow top-six hopefuls Real Betis (1-1) and Mallorca (0-0) at bay in their last two La Liga outings and the points kept coming during the week when they defeated Bulgaria’s Ludogorets away (2-1) to hold onto sixth place in the Europa League at the halfway stage of the league phase. It was another immensely inefficient performance though, in which they recorded 19 attempts following another 37 across their back-to-back league draws. [/p]
[p]Manager Ernesto Valverde knows a thing or two about getting past Valladolid at least, taking the spoils in his last nine managerial H2Hs to form what stands as his second-longest personal La Liga winning streak against a single opponent. When coupling that with an impressive record of W9, D3, L2 as La Liga away outsiders since the beginning of 2023/24, many signs appear to be in Athletic’s favour here.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Kike Pérez has been amongst the action in at least one way on a regular basis, either scoring or being booked in five of his last six competitive appearances of at least 30 minutes. Oihan Sancet could beat him to glory, with his last three La Liga goals coming both on the road and prior to half-time. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Valladolid have opened the scoring only twice in La Liga this season. [/p]
