Valladolid Girona prediction 2025-05-13

Valladolid vs Girona prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-12 17:00.
[p]For an already-relegated Real Valladolid, Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Mallorca was inconsequential. Valladolid are already confirmed as bottom-place finishers in the Spanish top flight, so this clash with Girona has a dead rubber feel to it, but there’s still the chance for them to salvage some pride having lost their last nine La Liga outings. [/p]

[p]That losing streak is part of a wider 16-match winless run in league action (D1, L15), and even the fact that sole avoidance of defeat came on home turf is unlikely to offer them much hope here. Winning 13 of their paltry 16 points this season on home soil at least offers some hope of securing a result here, while perhaps more impressively, they’re also unbeaten in historical home H2Hs against Girona (W8, D2). [/p]

[p]Girona have amassed over twice as many points as Valladolid this term, yet with three rounds remaining they haven’t secured their top-flight status for next season. They stand on the brink of doing so with a comfortable cushion to the drop zone, but after a 1-0 defeat at home to Villarreal on Saturday, they’re still peering anxiously at the clubs beneath them. [/p]

[p]Their recent preparations haven’t been helped by the news that manager Míchel has been hospitalised with undisclosed medical reasons, leaving assistant manager Salva in charge of the team. The deputy will have a difficult task on his hands to turn around Girona’s woeful form on the road, where they’re winless across their last seven league games (D2, L5) despite scoring exactly once in each of the last four. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Valladolid may be hoping Chuki stays off the scoresheet as only three of his last 11 scoring appearances saw his side win (D3, L5), including both this term which arrived before half-time and across the last three rounds. Girona’s Yáser Asprilla prefers to strike a little later, netting four of his last five club goals after the break. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Valladolid have conceded a league-high 49 second-half La Liga goals this term.[/p]
