Venezia Fiorentina prediction 2025-05-12

Venezia vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-05-11 16:30.
[p]Venezia remain in the Serie A relegation zone after a 1-1 draw against Torino last week, but kicking off after all their closest rivals means their one-point gap to safety could have increased by the time they face Fiorentina. The Winged Lions are certainly not on their way down without a fight after being beaten in just two of their last ten league games (W1, D7), but with that victory over bottom-of-the-table Monza their only success since Christmas, wins are a necessity from here.[/p]

[p]With two of their remaining three fixtures coming against sides chasing Europe, Eusebio Di Francesco’s men face a tough task to avoid the drop. Home advantage at least works in their favour with 17 of their 26 points won on their own turf (W4, D5, L8), while Venezia have won more home games against Fiorentina (eight) in Serie A than any other opponent, including four successive such victories.[/p]

[p]Fiorentina know their only route back to Europe is through their league finish after they were dumped out of the UEFA Conference League on Thursday by Real Betis. A 2-2 draw on the night saw La Viola concede decisively in extra-time to depart 4-3 on aggregate, while the result also extended their winless streak to three matches after they were beaten 1-0 by Roma in Serie A last week.[/p]

[p]Raffaele Palladino’s men now have ground to make up to the top six, and their poor recent history in this fixture may provide a psychological barrier to progress. Fiorentina have failed to score in three of the last four top-flight H2Hs – including the reverse fixture which ended goalless – but with just two wins from their last ten Serie A away matches (D2, L6), finding a response to Thursday’s disappointment seems far from assured[/p]

[p]Key battle: Goalkeeper Ionuț Radu has kept four clean sheets in 12 league games for Venezia this season, three of which came in home matches. Robin Gosens netted a first-half brace for Fiorentina in midweek, meaning each of his last five strikes have come before half-time.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Six of Venezia’s last eight home games, as well as the last three H2Hs, produced under 1.5 goals.[/p]
