Verona Genoa prediction 2025-04-13

Verona vs Genoa prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2025-04-12 13:00.
[p]It was around this time last year that Verona came alive to secure their Serie A status, as a run of just two defeats from their final seven games (W3, D2) meant the Yellow and Blues avoided relegation by three points. A three-match unbeaten run (W1, D2) has helped them open up a seven-point gap to the bottom three pre-round which leaves them in a healthy position to secure a seventh successive Serie A campaign. [/p]

[p]To lengthen that gap to the drop zone, they’ll need to improve upon a miserable run of one win in nine at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi (D2, L6). That’s not been helped by the fact that only one team in the division has failed to score in more home games than Verona’s eight ahead of this round, but the incentive of completing a first-ever Serie A H2H double over Genoa could prove the incentive they need to rediscover their scoring touch.[/p]

[p]Genoa have hardly warmed up in fine fashion to avoid such an ignominy as they’ve posted a seven-match winless league run on the road (D3, L4). Such a sequence is stifling the club’s hopes of a first top-half finish in Serie A since 2014/15, as is the fact that only one team starting the round outside the relegation zone has scored fewer than the Griffins’ 29 goals.[/p]

[p]Patrick Vieira’s side did beat Udinese 1-0 last time out though, and enter this round in 12th, a couple of points below the two teams directly above them. Genoa will surely believe they can close that gap this weekend having lost only three of the last 15 H2Hs (W7, D5) – albeit one of those was a 2-0 reversal in September – as well as the fact they have tasted defeat just once in seven away trips against teams currently in the bottom half (W4, D2).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Verona’s Amin Sarr netted for the first time in 13 games against Torino, a strike that means he has lost just one of the last 11 fixtures in which he has netted (W9, D1), with ten of those matches featuring 3+ goals. Genoa’s Morten Frendrup has proved a difficult opponent to bypass this season, as he has won a league-high 58 tackles.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Verona have conceded a league-high 36 first-half goals in Serie A this season.[/p]
