Verona vs Spezia prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-11-12 14:00.
The picture seems to be getting more and more grim by the week for Hellas Verona, who probably can’t wait for the World Cup hiatus to start after losing a remarkable ninth consecutive Serie A (SA) match when going down 1-0 to Juventus in midweek. No team in Europe’s top-five leagues is on a longer or equal losing streak, and as a result they unsurprisingly find themselves at the foot of the table.
There really isn’t much to give Verona credit for at the moment, but manager Salvatore Bocchetti will be optimistic the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi faithful can play their part in snapping their longest ever SA losing streak in the club’s history, since their only win of the season has come at home. The visit of Spezia might also serve as encouragement, with Verona avoiding defeat in ten of the last 11 H2Hs (W8, D2).
Yet Spezia will have their eye on a vulnerable Verona outfit as a way to snap their own seven-game winless run in SA (D2, L5), after surrendering a lead to draw 1-1 with Udinese in midweek. As a result Spezia have been sucked into the relegation battle, and they currently hover precariously just one place above the bottom three prior to the weekend.
If there is to be a revival by the Little Eagles, the odds of it coming on the road are slim at best, as they’ve lost their first seven away assignments of the campaign. Their last such outing was a 2-1 loss to AC Milan, which actually showed signs of improvement as it featured their first goal scored on their travels all season!
Players to watch: Verona’s number nine Thomas Henry has scored his side’s first goal in 12 of his last 14 goalscoring outings, while Spezia’s fate seems to often lie in the hands of top-scorer M'Bala Nzola, who has scored four of his five SA goals this season before half-time.
Hot stat: No SA side has conceded more league goals after the 75th minute this season than Verona’s nine.
