Villarreal Sevilla prediction 2025-05-25

Villarreal vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-24 14:15.
[p]Having already secured a top-five finish and UEFA Champions League qualification that comes with it, Villarreal head into the final day under no pressure. Winning each of their last five matches, one more victory would represent their longest winning run in La Liga since 2008, while two goals would equal their best-ever scoring return in a top-flight season of 69 which was set back in 2004/05.[/p]

[p]A visit from Sevilla is traditionally tough, although the Yellow Submarine head into this in search of a third consecutive La Liga H2H win for the first time ever. A maiden double over Sevilla is also up for grabs, with Villarreal confidence boosted by a three-match winning streak at home as well as a perfect winning record both home and away against sides beginning the round 16th or below (W9). [/p]

[p]Not enjoying the same success as their hosts this year, Sevilla can at least travel with a sense of relief as their La Liga status is preserved with a pre-round four-point gap to the relegation zone. Their current 41-point haul represents their joint-lowest return in a league season this century, level with last season, so a win on the final day would see them eclipse last campaign’s effort.[/p]

[p]Travelling here on the back of four straight La Liga away defeats, Sevilla are enduring their worst run on the road since a run of five successive away losses back in 2019. Adding to their psychological disadvantage here will be Sevilla manager Joaquín Caparrós’ own recent failures against Marcelino on the touchline (D2, L3), as his sides have failed to find the net across any of those matches. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Ayoze Pérez (G19) could become just the fourth player to hit 20+ goals for Villarreal in a top-flight campaign, the very first of which was a 95th-minute winner against Sevilla in round two. Sevilla’s Dodi Lukébakio also scored in the reverse fixture and may expect to do so again given that each of his last five goals came away from home. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Villarreal have avoided defeat in half of their league games when conceding first this season (W4, D3, L7). [/p]
