Waalwijk Sittard prediction 2024-02-24

Waalwijk vs Sittard prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2024-02-23 17:45.
RKC Waalwijk goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen was sent off the pitch last week when visiting Feyenoord (L 1-0) after an alleged handball. RKC management allowed during the week that they did not agree with the KNVB sanction handed down during the week, so he may still be present pending the midweek appeal. But the biggest problems for the Waalwijkers lay up front.

They’re currently in 16th place in the competition, but a win is enough to equal number 15 on points and, perhaps most importantly, increase the gap from the bottom two places to eight points. The club with the most Belgians of all first division teams in Europe (six) outside of Belgium itself has had to depend on Yassin Oukili and captain Michiel Kramer for goals, but the latter was on the bench for 90 minutes last weekend.

Fortuna Sittard does not seem to have to take European football nor relegation into account for the time being, although it is still early to say that neither will be in the frame come season's end. The Limburgers lost their last two Eredivisie matches and were also eliminated from the KNVB Cup by FC Groningen on penalties, so aren’t in particularly good shape. That’s especially true in front of goal, having failed to score in four of their last six matches.

It would have helped if they could handle penalty kicks a little better. After PSV, Fortuna were awarded a penalty most often of all other Eredivisie clubs (six), but four different players have already missed a spot kick. For all other teams in the competition, no more than one player has recorded a penalty miss. On a positive note, the fact that they took points from eight of their last ten meetings with RKC (W5, D3) should be a small morale boost in the run-up to this game.

Players to watch: David Min has scored a total of twice in his last two Eredivisie games in the Eredivisie, whilst Iñigo Córdoba did so in two of his last four.

Hot stat: Fortuna won just one of their last 16 Eredivisie away games (D3, L12).
