Wales W vs Netherlands W prediction: EUROPE: Euro Women betting tips on match 2025-07-04 16:00.
[p]UEFA Women’s European Championship debutants Wales will be looking for their first win of 2025 when they take on the Netherlands, who won the tournament in 2017. [/p]
[p]Match News and Current Form[/p]
[p]The lowest-ranked team at the finals, Wales qualified for their first-ever Women’s Euros after finishing top of their qualifying group by going unbeaten (W4, D2) and scoring 18 goals in six games, before overcoming Slovakia and the Republic of Ireland in play-off ties. Rhian Wilkinson’s side are without a win in six games since then however, as they were relegated from the top tier of the Nations League (D2, L4). The most concerning omen about that winless run for Wales will be that all six games came against sides who join the Netherlands in FIFA’s top-15 ranked women’s sides.  [/p]
[p]Placed in a very difficult Group D with France and England, this is the only game where the Netherlands and their fans will really expect the three points. The Oranje struggled to qualify for the tournament automatically, with Vivianne Miedema equalising in the 80th minute against Norway to help them secure the point they needed to reach these finals in Switzerland. They’ll hope for much better here against a Wales side who are ranked 19 places beneath them by FIFA, and having won four of their last six games (D1, L1), they certainly come into the tournament with momentum behind them. [/p]
[p]Head-to-Head History[/p]
[p]The Netherlands have won all four of the previous meetings between these sides by a 10-1 aggregate scoreline. This will be the first meeting since July 2017.[/p]
[p]Hot Stats and Streaks[/p]
[p]Wales haven’t scored more than once in any of their last six matches.[/p]
[p]Wales haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last eight games. [/p]
[p]Nine of the Netherlands’ last ten matches saw both teams score. [/p]
[p]The Netherlands have scored inside 15 minutes in six of their last eight games.[/p]
[p]Key Players to Watch and Missing Players[/p]
[p]Veteran Jess Fishlock is Wales’ highest-ever appearance maker (162) and goalscorer (47), and netted her country’s most recent goal in the 4-1 loss to Italy last month. Also her country’s record scorer, Miedema is one goal away from 100 strikes for the Netherlands – she’s opened or closed the scoring on her last five international scoring appearances.[/p]
[p]Wales have no new injuries to their experienced players, but returning former captain Sophie Ingle hasn’t played a competitive match since last July after suffering a serious knee injury. Likewise, Netherlands are not missing any of their stars, with Lineth Beerensteyn expected to be fit despite not featuring against Finland. [/p]
[p]Betting Analysis[/p]
[p]Given that neither side tend to receive many bookings, betting on fewer than 3.5 cards for this match seems likely to turn a profit.[/p]
