Werder Bremen vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-08-30 13:30.
[p]Ole Werner has urged his Werder Bremen players to be “more clinical” as they seek their first win of the Bundesliga campaign. The head coach was left mildly frustrated as his team converted only a couple of their dozen goal attempts in a 2-2 draw with Augsburg in their opening match of the league season, although he admitted that a point apiece was a fair result overall.[/p]
[p]That stalemate was still a positive enough start to the campaign for the River Islanders, but they have now managed just one top-flight win in their last 13 games during August (D4, L8). They did, however, taste success against minnows Energie Cottbus in the DFB-Pokal earlier this month, as Keke Topp, one of a flurry of new signings since the transfer window opened, bagged a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory. [/p]
[p]Making it three games unbeaten though might be a tough ask against upcoming opponents Borussia Dortmund, who have only lost one of the last 11 H2Hs in the league (W7, D3). The visitors also head to Weserstadion full of confidence thanks to a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their first Bundesliga outing of the campaign last week.[/p]
[p]That was the perfect start to life as manager for new boss Nuri Şahin, who said that it was “important” to get some early momentum by kicking off his tenure with a win. The match also showed that there has been a smooth gelling process in his squad, as new signings Waldemar Anton and Pascal Groß were in the starting line-up for a side who, after their lowest finish in nine seasons in 2023/24, have set their sights on climbing back into the top four this campaign.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: All seven of Justin Njinmah’s strikes for Werder Bremen have come after half-time, including his equaliser against Augsburg last Saturday. Young Dortmund starlet Jamie Gittens will be battling him for the limelight, and the 20-year-old has won each of the five Bundesliga games in which he has netted after bagging a brace against Frankfurt, including breaking the deadlock at Bremen in February 2023.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Werder Bremen’s last five competitive fixtures have seen both teams score.[/p]
