Werder Bremen Heidenheim prediction 2024-02-10

Werder Bremen vs Heidenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-02-09 14:30.
Only table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen have avoided defeat in the Bundesliga longer than mid-table duo Werder Bremen and Heidenheim, neither of whom have lost a league match since early December. Bremen (W4, D3) netted inside two minutes to beat Mainz last time out, although manager Ole Werner admitted his side had “a bit of luck” along the way after their opponents fired 20 shots at goal without success.

Still, the River Islanders must be full of confidence after stringing together three consecutive top-flight victories for the first time since March 2019. As a result, Bremen have spent the week celebrating their 125th anniversary in the top-half of the Bundesliga table, and look well placed to stay there as they’ve never lost a home H2H (W2, D1).

One of those previous meetings came back in 2020 as part of a two-legged relegation play-off that saw Heidenheim miss out on promotion to the top flight. They wouldn’t have to wait too much longer though, and Frank Schmidt’s men have acquitted themselves well to life in the Bundesliga, a process started by a 4-2 victory in the reverse fixture that was Heidenheim’s first at this level.

They’ve now drawn each of their last four games, which although on the face of it could seem concerning, the last two came against sides currently above them in the table. Concerns remain about their form on the road though, as Heidenheim have accumulated just six of their 24 points away from home (W1, D3, L6), with only strugglers Union Berlin and Mainz collecting fewer!

Players to watch: Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch scored the winner against Mainz, with that being the fourth time this season he’s netted inside the first ten minutes of a match. Heidenheim may turn to Eren Dinkçi, currently on loan from Bremen, to try and solve their travelling woes, as five of his seven goalscoring appearances this season have been away matches.

Hot stat: Bremen are one of just five sides in the Bundesliga yet to lose a game after taking the lead (W7, D3).
