West Brom Norwich prediction 2023-04-29

West Brom vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-04-28 16:30.
With the Championship season nearing its end, the incredibly competitive race for the play-off places sees as many as eight teams vying for two spots in the top-six. Despite recent wobbles, West Brom and Norwich are both among them as they prepare for a crunch clash at The Hawthorns, with a result either way likely to prove fatal for the loser.

The Baggies’ form has taken a turn for the worse at the wrong time, with a 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United their second consecutive loss. Boss Carlos Corberán is in no mood to give up though, stating his side will ‘fight until the end’ in their bid to return to the top-flight. Playing at home certainly plays into their hands, with West Brom’s 12 clean sheets on their own turf the most in the division.

While the Baggies start the round two points adrift of the coveted playoff places, Norwich are one behind their hosts after a bruising 3-0 defeat to Swansea in their last outing. The Canaries gave themselves ‘a mountain to climb’ according to boss David Wagner, who was left to rue a first-half red card for Sam McCallum.

Norwich are now winless in their last four matches (D2, L2), but their strength is certainly on their travels, having lost just one of their last seven away matches (W2, D4). The Hawthorns ought to be comfortable surroundings too, as the Canaries have lost just two of their last nine trips to West Brom (W5, D2), so their play-off hopes could receive a boost here.

Players to watch: Baggies forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has scored the match opener in each of his last three goalscoring appearances – all arriving inside the opening 20 minutes. Norwich’s Josh Sargent also likes to strike early, with five of his last six goals coming before half-time.

Hot stat: Only eight of West Brom’s 22 Championship home games have seen both teams get on the scoresheet – the joint-lowest in the division.
