West Ham Luton prediction 2024-05-11

West Ham vs Luton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-05-10 14:00.
[p]What has long seemed inevitable was finally confirmed by West Ham this week, as the club announced that manager David Moyes would depart at the end of the season. The Scotsman has transformed the Hammers’ fortunes over the course of his second tenure, most notably guiding them to UEFA Europa Conference League glory, but his focus now switches to signing off on a high note after a sobering run of form.[/p]

[p]Moyes’ men have won just one of their last ten matches in all competitions (D4, L5), with their most recent outing ending in an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to London rivals Chelsea. That run has all but ended West Ham’s chances of qualifying for Europe, but a top-half finish still looks plausible, especially if the Hammers can continue their unbeaten record against promoted sides in this season’s Premier League (W3, D2).[/p]

[p]The margin for error has now completely disappeared for opponents Luton, who realistically must win to keep their Premier League survival hopes alive. The Hatters could be relegated if they fail to win at the London Stadium and Nottingham Forest go on to beat Chelsea, but taking care of their end of the bargain looks a tall order for a side that have won just one of their last 15 Premier League matches (D4, L10).[/p]

[p]Alarmingly, Luton have lost each of their last five such outings on the road – conceding an average of three goals per game! Only already-relegated Sheffield United (six) have earned fewer points than Rob Edwards’ side (ten) on their travels this term, and another failure to add to that tally here could well bring the curtain down on their top-flight fairytale.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: West Ham striker Michail Antonio has proved something of a bad luck charm for his side of late, as none of his last five goalscoring appearances ended in victory (D3, L2). Opposite number Elijah Adebayo marked his return from injury with a goal against Everton last time out, taking his personal tally into double figures for the campaign – eight of those goals have come in his last 11 league appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: West Ham have conceded 70 league goals this season – their joint most in one league campaign since 1975/76![/p]
