West Ham vs Tottenham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-05-03 13:00.
[p]West Ham and Tottenham have officially avoided relegation, but both sides will still be keen to avoid the tag of the Premier League’s worst surviving club in this Sunday afternoon battle between 17th and 16th respectively. The frustrations of new Irons head coach Graham Potter almost boiled over last weekend when they capitulated late on at Brighton (L 3-2), recording a seventh straight league game without victory in the process (D3, L4).[/p]
[p]The normally calm Potter was “in too much pain to talk about positives” after his side conceded at least two goals for the third time in four matches. A dearth of clean sheets has been responsible for their current woes, with their last home outing – a 1-1 draw against bottom-of-the-table Southampton – demonstrating that they certainly cannot take Tottenham for granted despite taking points from each of their last four H2Hs at the London Stadium (W2, D2). [/p]
[p]After they were thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool’s title-winning squad, Spurs have now registered their joint-worst season of the Premier League era in terms of losses (19) – including the period when the division comprised 22 teams. Frustrations are building to the point that their continuing UEFA Europa League success, including a 3-1 victory at home to Bodø/Glimt on Thursday, appears unlikely to save Ange Postecoglou’s job.[/p]
[p]Spurs are also on their longest Premier League losing run away from home (four games) since between February and May 2019, albeit with three of those defeats coming against current top-half opposition. Pursuing their first league double over the Hammers since 2019/20, they could perhaps draw some confidence from an unbeaten away league record this term against sides currently beneath them in the table.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Jarrod Bowen has given West Ham the lead after half-time in their last two home games, while all ten of his goals at club level in all competitions this season have come after the 40th minute. Similar can be said about Dominic Solanke, whose midweek penalty was the eighth of his last 13 goals to have arrived after the break. [/p]
[p]Hot streak: The last eight Premier League matches involving either West Ham or Tottenham saw both teams score.[/p]
