Wolfsburg vs St. Pauli prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-03-07 14:30.
[p]It’s been a fruitful 2025 so far for Wolfsburg, with their sole loss in nine Bundesliga matches this year coming against league leaders Bayern Munich in January (W4, D4). Since then, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men have compiled a six-game unbeaten run in the league (W2, D4), culminating in a 2-1 win away to Werder Bremen last time out which propelled them to within a point of RB Leipzig in sixth place.[/p]
[p]Coupling this uptick in form with the fact the Wolves have also lost just one of their last ten home matches (W5, D4) should have the Volkswagen Arena faithful feeling confident here, but drawing their last three home matches will have left a slightly bitter taste. Another area of frustration will be their tendency to let teams back into matches when leading, with Wolfsburg dropping a league-high 16 points from winning positions this Bundesliga campaign. [/p]
[p]That may not be a worry should they go ahead against upcoming visitors St. Pauli, who are the only team in Europe’s traditional top-five leagues yet to earn a point from a losing position this season. Possessing the Bundesliga’s most lacklustre attack with just 18 top-flight goals scored has severely limited their powers of recovery, and their troubles in front of goal have been on full display lately after failing to score in their last four games.[/p]
[p]Losing all four of those fixtures is hardly a surprise then, and unless manager Alexander Blessin can reignite his team’s attack soon, their four-point advantage over those in the bottom three will be under severe threat of being overturned. A matchup with Wolfsburg has historically encouraged St. Pauli to put on a good performance at least, as across their 15 H2Hs in Germany’s top two divisions, the visitors have lost just once (W5, D9).[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Patrick Wimmer was Wolfsburg’s hero when netting a brace against Werder Bremen – he’s scored the match opener within the opening 15 minutes in four of his last five goalscoring outings. St. Pauli might look to Oladapo Afolayan for inspiration, since none of his previous 35 goalscoring appearances have ended in defeat (W33, D2).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Wolfsburg have seen a league-high 24 goals scored after the 75th minute in their Bundesliga games this season. [/p]
