Wolves vs Leicester prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-10-22 13:00.
Despite taking the lead against Crystal Palace in midweek, a managerless Wolves slumped to a fourth defeat in five Premier League (PL) matches (2-1). Caretaker boss Steve Davis has now been handed the job until 2023 after QPR manager Michael Beale turned down the chance to take the Molineux hot-seat, and Davis will be desperate for a second straight home win to maintain their decent home record this season (W2, D2, L1) as they bid to escape the relegation zone.
Few would have predicted this would be a relegation six-pointer at the start of the season, but the visit of fellow bottom-three side Leicester City certainly has that feel to it. Considering Wolves are unbeaten in five home PL H2Hs (W3, D2), the prospects appear good for Davis steering them above the dotted line, and with two 4-3 thrillers in that run, don’t rule entertainment out either!
Under-fire Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers perhaps bought himself a bit more time in midweek as the Foxes sniffed out a 2-0 victory against Leeds. Rodgers insists his side must now “build on that win”, and they have the chance to notch back-to-back PL wins for the first time this season, yet five-straight away defeats tells you doing so may not be straightforward.
You don’t have to be a tactical genius to work out where Leicester’s biggest problem lies and that’s in conceding goals, with their eye-watering 24 conceded ahead of the round a PL-high. In fact, one clean sheet in their last 31 PL away games indicates it’s an issue which has long-plagued Leicester, but with two shutouts in their last three visits to Molineux, perhaps this is the ideal venue to cure their away day blues.
Players to watch: Adama Traoré has been handed a Wolves lifeline by Davis, and the winger repaid his faith with his first PL goal since January against Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Harvey Barnes has seen three of his last four goals serve as the game’s last, including in the win against Leeds.
Hot stat: The away team on the day has never won any of the ten PL meetings between these two sides (D4, L6).
